Yes – you can go rafting in Colorado! This company could not have been more helpful or friendly on the phone when I talked to them. They told me they had recently taken 4 people in wheelchairs from Craig Hospital in Denver – quadriplegic and paraplegic – rafting, and that it all went very smoothly. They will accommodate your needs with positioning in raft or on orr boat depending on your sitting balance. They will drive your accessible vehicle to the take-out spot. They will assist you with transferring and wheelchair mobility, as well as whatever else you may need to ensure you have a great time. Rafting options from the Breckenridge area are half or full days (with lunch) at the Blue River (Class III) or Colorado River at Kremmling (Class I-II), or and Brown’s Canyon Deluxe (Class III+) is a 3/4 day trip. They also offer many other rafting choices from their Buena Vista, Royal Gorge and Clear Creek offices, so please contact them to see how they can best fit your needs.
