Come here if you’re into history, mining or have kids – they will love the gold panning! Come for a tour of the old mine, where the largest piece of gold was discovered – Tom’s Baby. Here, you can go about 1000 feet into the actual mine. They also have some mining relics, a gift shop and burros on site. The gold panning is largely inaccessible since it’s not on an elevated surface. I’ll be honest that it’s a little cheesy, but that’s why it’s great for kids or adults who are really in to mining. They describe themselves as “wheelchair friendly,” so be sure to read on below for more specific information or call them at 970-453-4405 if you have any more specific questions regarding accessibility.
